Space Science Begins With Us
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the official website of the Institute of Space Science and Engineering (ISSE). The Institute which was fully established in 2018 by the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) is in affiliation with the African University of Science and Technology (AUST).
ISSE, through AUST awards MSc/PhD in Advanced Space Sciences and Engineering. This website provides a general information about the Institute, and the programmes. Additional information is also available at the AUST website. The NUC approved MSc and PhD programmes are as follows.
- Space Physics
- Geoinformatics and GIS Applications
- Aerospace Engineering
- Systems Engineering
Curriculum Overview
We are a unique postgraduate Institute set to address the growing needs of scientific and space knowledge, and innovations in Nigeria and the African continent at large.
Space Physics
The Space Science program covers a broad range of disciplines, from meteorology and geology, to lunar, solar, and planetary science, to astronomy and astrophysics, to the life sciences.
Geoinformatics and GIS
The Geoinformatics program at ISSE involves teaching, research and hands-on training on the use and appreciation of different tools for different tasks performed from theory to practice.
Aerospace Engineering
The Aerospace Engineering Program at ISSE is concerned with advanced training, research and innovation development of aircraft, spacecraft, and satellite system engineering.
Systems Engineering
Systems engineering enables building, analyzing and managing a system—be it electrical, mechanical, chemical, biological or one involving business processes and logistics.
Our Activities
Hands-on Sessions
Our students are involved in practical sessions to improve their problem-solving skills for real-time solutions.
Publications
Our scholars publish the research work for the collective benefit of the scientific community.
Collaborations
We avail our students with collaborative opportunities to widen their scope.
