Admission Requirements for M.Sc. Space Science
The program has two (2) areas of specialization from the student is expected to select one from the following:
-Space Physics
Geoinformatics and GIS Applications
For full-time students, the duration of each program shall be minimum of eighteen (18) calendar months.
Requirements for Admission into M.Sc. Degree in Space Science
i. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in any related science discipline from any approved University may apply for admission into a relevant programme. ii. Candidates may be required to satisfy the Department in a selection process before admission. iii. Candidates are required to satisfy all other requirements of the Institute of Space Science and Engineering.
Requirements for Award of M.Sc. Degree in Space Science
To satisfy the requirements for the award of M.Sc. degree (Space Science) in any area of specialization, a candidate must: a. Offer and pass all core courses in his chosen area of specialization. b. Offer and pass such number of 800-level elective course as is required to bring the total of 800-level course units (including core courses but excluding research/project) to at least 30 units. c. Offer and pass 6 units of project/Research d. Satisfy all other conditions stipulated in the regulation of the Institute of Space Science and Engineering. e. In addition to an approved B.Sc. or its equivalent.
Doctor of Philosophy in Space Science
In this programme, the emphasis is on original research, candidates may undertake their research in one of the areas of specialization listed for the M.Sc. (Space Science) degree program.
Requirements for Admission into Ph.D. Degree in Space Science
To be eligible for admission into the Ph.D. programme, candidates are required to: i. Be a holder of M.Sc. degree or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 4.0/5.0 in Space Science or related field awarded by any approved university. ii. Satisfy the Department in a selection process and satisfy all other admission requirements of the Institute of Space Science and Engineering.
Requirements for Admission into Ph.D. Degree in Space Science
To be eligible for admission into the Ph.D. programme, candidates are required to: i. Be a holder of M.Sc. degree or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 4.0/5.0 in Space Science or related field awarded by any approved university. ii. Satisfy the Department in a selection process and satisfy all other admission requirements of the Institute of Space Science and Engineering.
Requirements for Award of Ph.D. Degree in Space Science
To satisfy the requirements for the award of Ph.D. degree in Space Science, a candidate must:
i. Successfully complete a minimum of 18 units of 800-level courses
ii. Enroll in a minimum of 3 units of 900-level research seminar per academic semester
iii. Meet foundation courses requirements
iv. Methods of Applied Mathematics II (SSE 822) is required for Space Science Option A
v. Offer Methods of Applied Mathematics IIB (SSB 822) is required for Space Science Option B
vi. Satisfy all other requirements of the Institute of Space Science and Engineering
